The series, hosted by NAHO, will focus on the inclusion of Cree healing ways in diabetes care offered to Cree patients. The series will be focused on a clinical research project that involves four communities of the Eastern James Bay Cree territory (Eeyou Istchii), the Cree Board of Health and Social Services as well as seven academic laboratories in three major Canadian Universities (Montreal, McGill and Ottawa).

The Canadian Institute for Health Research (CIHR) Team in Aboriginal Antidiabetic Medicines is a multidisciplinary project encompassing ethnobotany, phytochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, nutritional sciences as well as clinical research and health systems policy.

The National Aboriginal Health Organization advances and promotes the health and well-being of all First Nations, Inuit and Métis through collaborative research, Indigenous traditional knowledge, building capacity, and community led initiatives.
